Well there has been MoBs and MoAs and now I'm thinking why shouldn't there be a Masters of CBA tournament.

Perhaps the usual format of a few smaller tourneys, perhaps each one being a different civilisation, celts, mongols, huns, whatever. Could be done some time after the current MoA has finished.

Thoughts/suggestions welcome.

CBA isn't worthy of a masters, you need a number of maps for a masters else its plain stupid.

Could do Masters of CB and include all CB types with mirror civs.

Actually, you don't. Masters of Arabia and Masters of Arena are examples of that. And CBA certainly is worthy of a masters, just be sheer popularity, and of course would attract a lot of players.

No I was just making a point that it is not part of the definition of a tournament named Masters of whatever that there be more than one map, which is just a pointless statement from barry.

Anyway, you guys should really be thinking about catering to the players who play the single most popular maps (cba/hero). A total of 3 1v1 tournaments in the last 18 months+(?) for both maps, compared to countless blood/alternative 1v1 tourneys.

CBA has had the most overall tournaments out of any map in AoC CS by far.. as for the "popularity" you know why that is as well as everyone emi.. its not because its the most skillful map or anything.. its just an easy map that anyone can play basically as soon as they get on voobly.

With all that said I think CB's does deserve a 'Masters of' series.. especially if alternative gets one.. put in a mix of CBF/CBA/Hero/CBX/MCB/RCB.. something like that.

Yes CBA has he most tg tournaments by far, I'm talking about 1v1s though. Ofc I never claimed cba is the most skillful map lol. Your point about cba being easy to get into yeah but lets not ignore here is still actually a large and constant semicompetitive group of 18+ players, to go along with the large amount of noobs. The proof is in the lobby.

I don't like your idea of clumping cba with other cbs but that's just my opinion. I want a series for the celts players and the mong players and the cba 1v1 players.

you were referring to "master of alternative" and "master of bloods" master of alternative has several alternative maps part of it.. and master of bloods was the same thing. I think a Master of CB (which is mostly the maps I mentioned) would be interesting... CBA itself has had many tournaments in total.. RCB has had I think 2 CBX 1 MCB 1 CBF 1. If you just want a 1v1 CBA tournament.. say that instead so I dont get your post mixed up.

The idea was that the different civs would act as the different maps kinda. Celt, mong, sara are rock solid civs with good gameplay/minimal camping and I'm only suggesting 3-4 rounds.

Anyway it appears I'm not getting much support here from cba players even tho I seen a few looking at this thread, so I'm not going to push this issue further until I've spoken around and gauge interest.

I personally like the idea of a masters of cba using different civs each round it was something we discussed a couple of years ago but it just never happened and that was even before vcom was set up. Probably the biggest reason is the sheer length of time it would take to complete as in all probabilities there could be as many as 100 players and we all know some 1v1s in cba can take a really long time especially when people camp and it would be a nightmare to police. With there being that many players there would be alot of rounds stretching over a long time and we all know there is only a limited amount of civs that could or should be used so it would be a case of some civs being used more than once.

Celts - camping doesn't really work too well, the only problem in the last tournament was some camping that Estigma was doing (shock horror), which he promptly stopped doing when warned about it.

Mongols - camping can be more of a problem when a player just sits at his gates waiting. A player who makes no move towards the middle ground between bases can be penalised.

Saracen - camping is harder and really less effective. Also typically a decisive and quick game, given the slow spawning of sara units.

I don't think any of these civs would take a particularly long time, especially sara and celt (and especially if it was bo1 it would take no time at all). The fact that a lot of players (100 a bit of an overestimation lol) would turn up is a good thing despite it being a bit of a **** to organise.

Well that's not entirely true, Army talked about their previously being interest in this kind of thing. And masta did a great job with the celts tournament when I suggested that to him.
