This is the first AoK DM tournament of 2015 and the 1st of five 1v1 Frank War qualification tournaments for the Championship tournament in October. The Championship tournament in October will have a $1,000 1st place prize but to qualify for that tournament you need to play in one of the five qualification tournaments held throughout the 2015 calendar year and be a top twelve finisher in one of them to be entered into the October Championship tournament which will have a $1,000 1st place prize. You don't need to participate in all five tournaments, if you get into the top twelve in one of the qualification tournaments you will be entered into the Championship tournament in October. We're looking forward to seeing some great games!

Q: How can I sign up?
A: Comment "sign me up" below.
Q: Is this a one day event?
A: NO. The tournament begins January 31st and is played one round per week and best of three games. You must schedule your match with your opponent for that week. Expected ending date is March 7th, but could end sooner if less than 64 participants as there will be less rounds.
Q: When is the deadline for sign ups?
A: January 29th! Sign up asap!
Q: What if there is a low turn out for the tournament?
A: Then better chances for those who signed up to be entered into the Championship tournament for a chance to win $1,000!
Q: Will I be able to play in the Championship tournament in October if I don't play in this tournament?
A: Yes as long as you compete in one of the five qualification tournaments held throughout the year and are a top twelve finisher in one of them.
Q:How do I play my games each round?
A: In the AoK Lobby at [You must login to view link] using the "Match Stat", You work out playing times with your opponent each round in the VCOM Scheduling forum.
Q: My Opponent hasn't responded in the Scheduling forum. What now?
A: He has until 00:00GMT Monday to respond either by accepting one of the three time offers you made or offering three of his own. If he misses that deadline then he has until 00:00GMT Tuesday to accept on of your time offers. If he misses that deadline he forfeits the match and a VCOM staff will score it appropriately in the VCOM Submit Result forum. You don't need to do anything, the VCOM staff will score and submit the match for you.
Q: My opponent and I schedule a time to play, but he isn't here. Now what?
A: Your opponent has 30 minutes from the time you scheduled to play to show up. If he hasn't arrived at that time then post a comment in the AoK lobby room with a time stamp stating your opponent hasn't arrived and take a screen shot. Then go to the Scheduling forum you've been using with your opponent and write that he failed to show up. You don't need to post the screen shot but keep it as proof if a dispute arises. The VCOM staff will score the match and submit the result in the VCOM Submit Result forum, you don't need to do anything.
Q: I played the match with my opponent and won! How do I get it scored?
A: Submit the results in the VCOM Submit Result forum in the appropriate round, state the round#2, who you played, and who won along with either the links to the recorded games in your profile or the recorded game themselves. That's it, your done!
Q: When does the next round begin?
A: Each round begins 00:00GMT Saturday and all previous round matches must be completed by 00:00GMT Friday. If a match, or matches aren't completed by 00:00GMT Friday, VCOM staff will score the matches by deciding who made the best attempt at finishing the matches on time and the current result of any games played thus far in the match. It is important to finish your matches before 00:00GMT Friday!

Rounds
While the amount of rounds depends on the number of entries each new round will begin at 00:00 GMT of each Saturday. This means that every match must be completed no later than 00:00GMT Friday. Organizers reserve the right to forfeit and award automatic wins as deemed necessary to continue the tournament on schedule. In unlikely scenarios both parties may be forfeited if it is decided they both failed to give a good faith attempt at playing their round match. This is a best of three games per round but if a player wins the first two games they are not obligated (but are encouraged!) to play the third game.

Dropping Rules
If a player disconnects, the game will be resumed.
If the game cannot be resumed we will try to view the recorded game. If one team was going to win without any doubt they will be awarded the win. If there was no obvious winner then the game will be replayed with the same civilizations and spots.
If the same player constantly disconnects, their team will forfeit and the other team will progress to the next round unless a replacement can be found. The replacement cannot have played for another team.
Language Rules
Discrimination in any form is not tolerated. A violation of this rule will result in a reduced amount of rewarded points for this tournament or even in a disqualification for future events. Keep in mind that there are official rules related to this concern.
Simple trash talk is allowed since it has always been part of competitive activities such as sports or games. Keeping it to a minimum would be nice though.

Membership prizes for 1st - 4th places. Top twelve finalists (1st - 12th) are automatically allowed entry into the AoK DM Championship tournament October 31st 2015 for $1,000 USD!

Hi I sent you a message explaining why I can't sign you up just yet. To clarify for everyone you must either have 1) a 1700+ AoK DM rating at Voobly, 2) Have played 25 or more AoK DM games on Voobly (rated games so that they count on your profile!), or 3) have a current Gold or Platinum Voobly membership. Once you have fulfilled one of the above requirements write here requesting to be signed up and cite the requirement you fulfill, such as "please sign me up I am 17xx rating" or "please sign me up I've played 25 AoK DM games on Voobly". Please note that as the year goes on, the requirements for entering these tournaments will steadily increase also. The earlier you start the easier it'll be to fulfill the requirements to participate and try to get a place in the October championship tournament for $1,000 USD prize!
If you need help getting games played contact me and I might be able to play some with you, or grab a few buddies and play some together this weekend. 25 games isn't much and a good player could get a 1700 rating pretty fast!
