My opinion is, that 2v2 and 1v1 take away the whole strategy and flexibility part of rcb. You really only have to worry about your first decision, which is given to you by the civ anyway. The whole game is win-the-hill, ffa has so much more involved and you have more than one option. I wouldnt like another 1v1 or 2v2 tournament and i believe a 3v3 would end up the same.
You could also just play CBA/hero then, not much difference.

@rewarding buying a hero, i dont think this is a good idea. Where do you start? Do you want to give points for charlemagne? If not, thats like forcing peopleto buy robin for a few points, which is forcing them to play worse. If you reward charlemagne, then you'd have to reward buying imp+castles as well, as both are starting strategies.
Also, with sth like huns, goth or byza going subo or japanese going martel is pretty standard, would be weird to reward somebody for playing.
And giving high rewards for haralds might advocate a yolo playstyle, just to get some points, as even if you die, you will get a decent amount. Or, if somebody dies, he just buys the most expensive hero he can afford to gain some points before he dies.
The point system shouldnt have any influence on the playing style of the players, that would completely defeat the purpose of the event.
And how are you valueing nevski, mini haralds, trebs?

You didnt see how the ffa tournament would work... and you just said you dont want another 1v1 2v2 or 3v3 rcb tournament, so you dont want a rcb tournament to be hosted at all?

What I suggested was just an idea to start. Could take away pts from robin/magne and just start the point count on Beli or something instead starting at 1 pt. It's generally not a very common hero to start with or one you choose based on civ (as often) the way magne and robin are.

give points on heros or achieves is so sux ppl,is all depend on civis most, pyrmad kill easy but that will ruin the game of who do it(no chance to win game ),another 1v1,2v2 tourney is cool but id like to see new thing like ffa

From what I read:
FFa can't determine the level of a player and high level players will more than likely get teamed up on and defeated.
The point system is useless cause people will just buy hero or other things to gain them points before they die.
1v1,2v2 all depends on who wins hill first.

The idea of a ffa tourney was meant for the players who play it daily.
Just want them involved in a tourney. Could be fun. Hope we can arrange something.
Even if it isn't perfect, we learn from mistakes; and then we can fix those mistakes in future tournaments.

ya sure that's fine, but then we still need a way of deciding winner and 2nd/3rd places etc in games

this poses a real challenge, im sure the majority of rcb ffa players won't even turn up and they have fun on their own tho men 11

u realise the same ppl turn up every rcb tournament, i dont think it'll make much diff if it's FFA or not, most ppl just host a room or join a room that says RCB GOLD F12 and go and play it............. tournaments are a little diff :P

Well a lot it's because they don't know what it says or means on forums.
Like Shake and few of his clan members have told me in past that they want to participate, they just don't know when or how.

Well, I'll make sure they know...
Yes, what if different rcb versions were played?
Such as:
1st round f12
2nd round v11
3rd round v3
4rd round 10th
Etc...
Not in any precise order. It would be good games. After all, this is master of rcb Ffa right?

P.S.
Great feedback so far. ;good
Glad to see players getting involved.

No. I am not going to make this any more complex by adding old versions to the pool.

The word "Masters" is there for the fact all games will be random spots and random civilizations, as in you will have to make the very best out of what you are given.

FFA doesn't work for tournaments, I say that as someone who loves FFA games.
Do a 1v1-2v2-3v3-4v4 tournament instead. Could even make special rules like no tamerlanes to make sure the game isn't over in 5 minutes.

@faravahar, i've never seen you in a rcb ffa game...

@polaris, i'd like to have a rcb tournament, but preferably with better rules than those suggested in the original post.

@dopey, no, just play the latest version, i'd be fine with v11, but i dont even know v3 and 10th legion is absolute garbage for ffa, that one is better fitted for TG.

Can I point out that calling something 'masters of' for one map is a bit of a misuse of the original concept of multi map tournaments.
