So would people be more in favour of using the 1v1 tiw pack for a season and then having a season 2 with other maps down the line while still including some of the more popular maps or else go for a 20 map pack?

Which obscure AoK map is in there? Your must not know what obscure means because all of those "AoK" maps are well known by AoC players who play more than Smosh/Vets.

Early rounds could have a number of the more accessible maps and you could do the full monty for the latter rounds.
