Hello :)
First off all I d like to thank you guys for sponsoring this tourney and Im sure it will be an amazing one! I played Europe tourneys in the past and they re always fun to play and follow :) .

I have one little suggestion though. I played a lot of DM and they have this very cool rule, that when civs are mirrored (Team Random, for example) One should not make Bombard Towers (BBT) In big money prized tourneys of DM in the past they even use the "Wic Mode" Which forbids to build this towers. Im not here to change the way you guys play because I think the other one is superior, nor intend I to offend anyone who likes playing with bbt, but I really think the strategy can be a lot more envolving and important if one cant just go fast imp, BBT a lot and sit with some hand cannons behind the BBT in order to play a 3-4 hour long game. I think it takes more from a pair of players if they use the strategy and Build Orders to the top, without having to fall always in Late imp fights to see who can micro Rams and Hand cannons better. I know very long list of good players agree with me, so thats why im posting :)
Thanks a lot for the attention and cheers! Me and my mate will sign up for sure !

Bbt is a part of Europe...always has been, the whole mechanic of the map is that it's gold rich so you can make power units and have long imp battles. If it's team random both teams can make bbt so I don't see the problem.
This is a part of what distinguishes it from rm.

Could you send me some ? I'm totally broke. My car engine died. Bought a year long gym membership. Even 100 $/€/£ would help me out a lot.

Every civilisation has their perks and game style. As annoying as dealing with BBTs can be, I can think of many other variations that are as frustrating to deal with. Koreans and their OP Siege Onagers. Persians with fully boomed Eco spamming elephants. Stuck against Saracens with a cavalry civ like Huns. Britons against Mongols/Celts. Aztec, Mayans and Britons have no CG access when teams BBT/Castle spam coastlines and water choke points. Infantry based civ against Byzantines... Spanish ability to stall games for hours with their near flawless tech line.

Playing Team Random makes it balanced for each team.

I'd like to play. I don't think I can manage with my workload lately unfortunately. Good luck with the tournament.

Rounds

  • We hope for an early 16 Brackets Participation (32 Players).
  • Round 1,2 Etc. BO 3 ( 2 Mirror, 1 Random
  • The semi finals and finals will be Best of Five 3 Mirror, 2 Random

Isn't this a little unfair?

2 closely fought games fair games with no civ advantage ending with a score of 1-1, only for the overall winner of the match up decided because they get mongols+saracens vs huns+japanese??
