Just to let you guys know that lately there has been a lot of lag suddenly and I experienced it myself as well, I even bought a new computer to get rid of the lag but no way. I tried everything in the book, open ports, reinstall game, aoc, os etc etc etc etc etc, and I think the reason games are lagging so much is a recent windows update which affected all operating systems. They disabled something called secdrv.sys driver. for whatever reason saying it was unsafe whatever, that started on windows 10 with the upgrade but then hit all operating systems through recent updates. Anyway to cut a long story short read this:

I applied it the lag went, LSSD did the same it also went
You need to run cmd in admin mode and paste "sc config secdrv start= auto" to enable it. Helps a lot with the lag
