Thank you to all those that participated and came in to watch.

The LB ended with a 1-0 victory for [xcs] over [dv8]. Unfortunately, xcs were unable to continue on that day to conclude the finals against [asdf]. Normally, it would be reasonable to reschedule the final set so both finalists can tplay it out. Unfortunately, [asdf] were not in a position to reschedule this set for any other date in the forseeable future. Naturally, [asdf] takes 1st place and [xcs] 2nd place. [dv8] graciously offered to play a few games against [asdf] to give us some games of the final set since [xcs] could not. They too, will share joint 2nd with [xcs].

1st Place: [asdf]

Stryker
[dv8]_Vezir_

2nd place: [xcs]
[7th]W0LF____
[7th]_Sirwan_1
[ Zz]_Jarvis

Shared 2nd place: [dv8]

[dv8]Burberry_
[dv8]OrangWuTang

This tournament generated a lot of controversy and understandably so. I would like to invite all involved to offer feedback and suggestions for future.
Here are some of the suggestions given on the day.
  • Reschedule games for 3 weeks later regardless of whether the UB winners can make it. (It is a 1 day event)
  • Allow a team that hasn’t played at all in the tournament (turned up late) to play the finals if another team cannot make it
  • Rule in favour of the team that has to go due to later timezones (it should be noted these teams often benefited from an AW where they were unwilling to wait for other teams)
  • Reschedule for a team that has to go due to later timezones (it should be noted often these teams were often at fault for time wasting due to ignoring the tournament host(s)

1) Depends on the length of the tourney. A one night event should stay a one night event imo. To accomplish that I suggest to have all one night event tournaments be single elimination in the future. Double elimination makes it last too long. If it were single elimination then our games vs asdf wouldve been the last of the evening and the tourney wouldve ended 2 hours sooner and with less trouble.
2) No. An entire new team shouldnt be allowed to head straight to the finals. One substituion per team should be okay though. We had one, another team (I think the Laaws) had one and I would have loved to see Bucket and Wolf play with obi in the finals since Sirwan ran away.
3) No. There shouldnt be rules benefitting teams based on timezones. 17 GMT (+/- 1 Hour) on a Saturday is the best time for tournaments. Americans are awake by then and Asians can stay up late unless someone has to work on a Sunday morning. For that rare occasion there can be mentioned substitutions.
4) Same as above, no. There are rules regarding pauses and breaks. If someone doesnt comply with these rules then those people should be punished. But like I said before, one night events should be designed to be short tournaments to begin with so something like timezones shouldnt be a problem. Remove double elimination and keep early rounds to bo1 should be fair enough.

One thing I might add is that I didnt understand why the finals of the loser brackets were only BO1. Its basically a semi final round and while the first full round in the tournament was a BO3 it made no sense to me why a semi final round should be BO1. Either have proper loser brackets or none at all in my opinion.

Overall it was a good tournament though I think. There is always some trouble in the end but it wasnt that bad yesterday I think. Ive seen much worse.

So, good job LnL. Looking forward to the next tournaments :)

In cba maybe they can win with lame tactics, biggest joke is they do not have any day free to schedule a few games. Well no chance of these guys in Cba Hero even a normal team can swipe them in initial rounds.

What does that matter? CBA is about 5x CBA HERO in every regard, HERO can be won by feeding 1 person; or equally if one of your team feeds other a tiny, tiny bit more.

I've literally played games where one player ages by 1-5 kills before enemy (NO REAL ADVANTAGE AT ALL) and it ends game.... how is that a fair, strategic map? CBA has more dynamic and includes macro with building, razes meaning much more alongside your typical wars and micro.

^ I don't think for one minute the 'same old pros' will always win CBA, I think it's because there were many pro CBA'ers who didn't even show.... there are about 2 teams of Brazilians which could beat them, not to mention me rontgen +1 (the +1 not being _Roxor_) and 7th/eot if either cared to get active and field teams, but nobody did.

And what do you mean by lame? 11 The lamest things I've seen in CS are all in CBA Hero, such as camping at 180 kills when ahead and sniping middle for 200, constantly running around map to enemy side of map for faster reinforcements...... players not playing at all as to not feed and give all kills to ally... it all happens in HERO 11.

Bloods are where it's at.
