Lost connection to the server: Error Installing package (Error: Clean Directory Failed)

Haven't played in about three weeks and this pops up whenever I join a game.

Also, the same happens whenever I start Voobly and it tries to download an update.

Bump: I also tried manually installing the patch with no success

hi
try this
if you have the steam version follow this turorial for a good install: https://support.voobly.com/display/vkb/KB1054+Clean+installation+of+Aoe2HD+with+compatibility+patch
you need to make sure your pc firewall allows voobly and the game through.
