Hello,

I've recently downloaded age of empires 2 through steam. I purchased the package and I am able to play online, but when downloading voobly and attempting to play through Voobly I get the "Age2HD" not detected. I then checked my computer files and I do not have it.

I uninstalled the program and then looked for the files and it shows I have AoK HD. Why am I unable to download Age 2HD/play Age through Voobly.

When playing through the game itself (desktop icon), I am able to play games online and I am able to play as the expanded version - with the extended civs.. berbs etc.

Follow this guide:

Make sure at step14 you pick the right directory or you will end with a "new folder". In that case copy that contain where the new folder is created, then you can continue.

After all step try use these settings:

And also you can try use the 1.5 UP settings for your own taste:

Keep in mind, even if all settings are fine, it won't be 100% same as aoeHD, but you can improve most of the object's look by mods.


To play extra civs after aoc, you will need to install:

or if wanna try, then other community made mods.
