I am new to Voobly and internet gaming, but I would like to start playing Age of Empires II online using Voobly. However I only have a Mac right now, not a Windows PC, and I haven't bought the game either as a CD or a download. Is it possible to play live games from my Mac? If so, can someone help me to get started?

To be able to run Voobly/AoC in a Mac, it’s recommended to use BootCamp. You can use Wine Winery, but your gaming experience will be terrible as it has numerous bugs.
Please, read more about BootCamp before doing it. BootCamp will install Windows in your Mac so you will be able to run Windows or MacOS when starting your pc.
The game can be purchased via Steam (AOE2HD) and with the Compatibility Patch you will get the AoC. Remember that if you want to play WK at Voobly, you will need all DLCS.
