Hi,

I had bought AOE from steam couple of months back and have been playing at Voobly without any issue. Today, changed my laptop and reinstalled game using steam but after applying AOE II HD compatibility patch, facing the error "Scanning installed DirectPlay games...Game not found in DirectPlay registry! You are missing registry keys!".

Note that I do not use cracked version.

I have tried uninstalling / reinstalling but getting stuck at the same point. Please assist.

You will need to perform a clean installation. This is mainly caused due to a pirated version of the game or a bad installation issue.
To fix this, you will need to follow the instructions below.
If you already own AOE2HD (2013), move on to the guide in step 2.
