Follow Up on the Windows Defender issue

Windows Defender has wrongly detected (false-positive) our Anti-Cheat (filename anticheat2.dll) as malware (Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.D7!ml) and therefore flagged the Voobly client as a whole as Trojan:Win32/Woreflint.A!cl.

We are still investigating the issue and are already in touch with Microsoft. We apologize for any inconvenience.

What is the easiest workaround to get Voobly working again without adding any exclusions?
Please install a virus protection on your computer, rather than using the default Windows Defender.

At this time, only Windows Defender is detecting our gaming client as malware.

Microsoft has removed the detection for both: the anticheat2.dll, as well as the Voobly Client. The changes are not live yet and will require some more time. We will update this thread once the matter has been resolved.

The changes are now live, Microsoft has confirmed the false-positive detection and update their antivirus signatures for Windows Defender. Please follow the steps below to clear cached detection and obtain the latest malware definitions.
  1. Open command prompt as administrator and change directory to c:\Program Files\Windows Defender
  2. Run “MpCmdRun.exe -removedefinitions -dynamicsignatures”
  3. Run "MpCmdRun.exe -SignatureUpdate"

As you can see, none of the affected files are no longer detected:
