I set it to 1.6 or 1.5 and it comes up as 1.c when loaded. I've looked to delete 1.c from my laptop which I though I had done but it still appears in lobby. Any ideas please?

I've uninstalled voobly and reinstalled the patches

say 1.5 comes up then turns to 1c

been trying to aid my m8.
all 3 patches are in place. the game runs on his laptop and shows patch selector box. havnt checked the data mod is there. game loads as 1.5 then flips to 1.c after sec or 2. diagnostic check shows as ok.

For example it is very important, that the latest official patches must be installed first, before the community patch 1.4, 1.5 or 1.6 can be played. And you also must start the game from your desktop first, before you can play online.
