Hi there,

Please someone help.

I have AOM Titan EE with the Tale of the Dragon on Steam I've been trying to play on Voobly but I can't get the game started.
Game diagnostics is fine with the Patch and everything.

I've also tried to change the shortcut target by adding xres=640 as I did many others. I'm losing hope.

Can anyone help?

Hi Renatofga,

Thank you for contacting us. Please try performing a clean install by:
1) Delete the Age of Mythology folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games.
2) Install our [You must login to view link].

Please let us know if this solved your issue.

Hi Miko,

Thanks for your prompt reply.
Unfortunately, it did not fix it.

I'm sorry to hear that, but not to worry. Let's investigate further. What is the last thing you see in the blue bar on the loading screen before you get the error?

You're welcome. Please download [You must login to view link] and copy it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology\data. Then check if it resolved your issue.

Hmm, that's weird. Go to the properties of both aomx.exe and aomxnocd.exe and go to the compatibility tab. Select Windows 2000 and Run as administrator. If Windows 2000 isn't one of the options, Windows XP SP2 will do as well.

Sorry mate for giving you so much hard time.
There's no option for Windows 2000 for compatibility mode, only XP SP2 and SP3. I tried all the options already.

Still, I can't open it.

I'm losing hope here.

This is really odd. The game has got the files it needs and it has access to them (administrator privileges). Not that I expect it to make a difference, but please try the Windows 98/ME compatibility mode setting.

I will ask a staff member with more IT experience to take a look for you. :)

Hi Miko,

I've tried all compatibility modes available with no success.

Hopefully, your friend can help.

Thank you so much.

Hi Barkmjol,

I'm sorry to hear that. Have you already tried all the steps I posted above? In addition: please let me know what is the last thing you see in the blue bar on the loading screen before you get the error.

Just wondering, is it possible that UAC is turned off? And does it work, if you launch the game from your Desktop?
