You must configure your hotkeys and copy the file to the root game directory.

My issue is not the hotkeys getting replaced. Rather, not having the option to assign the palisade gate hotkey.

inside the mod's folder there's an .hki file. Set its name to player1.hki and see if the hotkey appears.
