Hi!

I was okay playing on Voobly but since few days, I am showing as FP.

I used to play using NORD VPN, now when I have the VPN active, I show as FP and when I run the 'Network Diagnostics' it shows the following:
Test Result: Symmetric NAT
Network Health: Poor

However, if i disconnect the VPN, I still show as FP, but when I run the 'Network Diagnostics' it shows the following:
Test Result: All Pass
Network Health: All tests passed
Recommended Action: None
Details: All tests passed.

I didn't change any settings on my computer or router or the VPN. Everything was good and then this issue just started out of nowhere.

Thanks for your help!

Your VPN provider assigns an IPv6 address which is not supported by Direct Play. You require an IPv4 address. As long as you have a DSL or Cable or Fibre connections, it's not necessary to use a VPN in order to play. You just have to forward UDP 16000 in your router and you can play.

Thanks for your reply!

As I said in the original message, it used to be working fine with the VPN, but now even without the VPN, it passes all the tests, but I still show up as FP.

In the router settings I did forward the port 160000 as well, but still same issue.

On top of that, my PC is also connected directly via ethernet cable, even when i turn the wifi off, i'm still having same issue.

Thanks,

You must point the port forwarding rule to the local ip address of your computer, which means, that you cannot swap between WiFi and Ethernet Cable without changing your IP address again.

Your VPN works, as long as Nord VPN assigns an IPv4 address, which no longer appears to be the case.

If you want to use VPN u might also wanna google or look in the app settings whether u can manually force IPv4 address.

Hi!

As you can see the IP address is the same, it is the PC address that is being forwarded.

Following is the IP config while connected via Nord VPN.

As I said earlier, the annoying part is that I haven't changed any settings, it just randomly went FP ;sadblush

It's nothing you can control on your side, if your VPN provider assigns an IPv6 address. The easiest solution would be fixing your port forwarding rule, so you can play without the VPN. It's not recommended anyway, as explained in this article:

Without the VPN, sometimes the network diagnosis tool is saying all tests passed and sometimes it says poor connection. And I am showing up as fp. So what should i do to fix that?

According to the screenshot you have two active connections, a WiFi connection (192.168.5.x) to its own router and a wired connection (192.168.1.x) to its own router. Please decide, whether you want to use a wired connection or a wireless connection, but you cannot have both enabled. In your router, you then create the port forwarding rule pointing to the local ip address of your computer. And you should double check, which router is directly connected to the internet, the wired one or the wireless one. The wireless router for example could have its DHCP disabled and directly plugged into a free port on your wired router instead of using the WAN port.

Found this Youtube Tutorial for your Router model

https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=-LqsWbpV9jc

, but either your model has a different firmware from your ISP and therefore missing the "applications" menu or you might need to enable "advanced functions" somewhere (maybe check under administration if there's something like enable advanced functions).

If there's no advanced options u can enable, then I guess your internet provider restricted the router menu with its ****ty firmware. Then u only have 3 options from my perspective: Buy a different router, ask your ISP if they can forward the port/enable the menu on your router for u or get that VPN back to working. Google says NordVPN didnt fully implement IPv6 on all of their servers yet. You could try switch to a different server or try completely deactivate IPv6 on Windows (not sure if that will make a difference, since Chris said u can't control it). There might also be a small chance that it will work without VPN and without port forwarding when u stop using wireless and wired connection at the same time.

The screenshots show a firmware from the year 2017. You should consider updating to the latest available firmware if possible or replace the existing hardware.
