The only reason why d row was not hosted in march was because I couldt make it and I suggested when I was available long before taff posted that. So you guys just made a mistake.
Switching the cba and d row will not be a problem at all.

Both threads to be fair suggest April 15th, I know it was due to Efkan asking to change the dates as he was away. To be honest you guys need to have some benefits to being in VCOM, so changing dates to suit VCOM members sounds right in my opinion.
I didn't realise we had the dates wrong on this one. I thought it was agreed from the other threads to play this on the 15th April and as I don't play in any of them I paid little notice to it.
I really don't mind running the CBA 1v1 on April 8th and maybe not make it a prize event.
Run the 2v2 DROW on the 15th April, and if you guys want we can make it a membership prize one?
This was clearly my mistake for posting the event here as April 8th lol.
Thoughts? btw I am not over ruling here just stating my honest opinion.
I'm not available to do it on the 15th so he can host it himself lol.
I shouldn't be able to say 'Im not playing AOC on Sunday the xxx so please don't schedule any events'.
I just think this Deathrow tournament has been handled inappropriately in many ways.
It was first suggested by Dave in feburary. It recieved the most interest by the 'old school' community I suppose. It has been delayed for 1 month because of 1 person not being able to make it despite 10+ people being excited about it. Now it has been officially announced and once again delayed. Also pushing back the CBA event.
Just very very sloppy.
I would delay a tournament for months if I had the guarantee that somebody good would play in it, but then again that is my mentality. Quality above quantity.
And I would do it for you.
It took forever to get a Veteran's tournament, however the VCOM handling of Veterans was done very well. It was clear that it had some community interest. Also it was used as a substitute for the original Deathrow plans. That said if it had been advertised for longer it might of received more teams.
The VCOM handling of Deathrow has been horrible *IMO*.. which is not your fault just something caused by your request to delay it. Its just conceptually wrong to delay an event for 1 person when there are many players waiting for it. And its impossible to know how many players will show up the day of the tournament only that the player requesting the date will most likely attend. Maybe you have 6 elite players that can play one date and only 4 that can play the next. If your one of the 4 and not the 6 why should the 6 be punished because your in VCOM?. Again its just impossible to know but thats my primary point which I have already argued previously in this thread.
"Quality above quantity"
This is something that needs to be discussed in its own thread IMO. But I will address it here. If the ultimate goal is to focus on the quality of games we need to provide access to basic and advanced information about the maps being used. Tutorials/Recordings or even a Live stream *I have been messing with Xsplit but still having issues with it*. More quality players leads to more quantity eventually.
If we are going to delay events to try and get as many "elite" players as possible.. we need to provide more access for those players whether it be by inviting them to be VCOM members or making more of the discussions publicly available. Could even mess with the ranks on members page:

If Voobly could attract a sponsor and provide at the minimum $100 per tournament, interest and partcipation would increase drastically. $100 is a lot for the third-world countries with large communities (India/China/Mexico/South America) as well as young teenagers.
I'm pro-streaming. I just watched Daut vs Jordan in their BO21 and can denote a few interesting facts;
- a peak of 1300 viewers were watching while I was online. 1300 people watching a live game of AoC, that's double the size of the Rm room on an average day at peak time.
- obviously the $5000 prize for winner and the fact the game is between highest rated Rmer and widely regarded best AoC player ever would attract huge interest as well.
- players can watch the games anywhere, without having to have AoC installed to watch the recorded game. This is great for people such as myself who have have no access to AoC most of the time.
- the games are live with commentating. Experts can stream their own games or coop important games and explain the gameplay, strategy and range of viable options each game. This is an important tool for teaching people.
I'm not going to get involved in the postponing of games to meet VCOM members needs, always going to be a strong difference of opinion between the staff.
P3's Atila the Hun spawn still does not work.
Its not a huge deal although atila is slightly better than theo.
Just something that should either be edited or should inform players of before tourney.
Know if there's any other bugs?
Just an fyi.

Should probably sort that out before sunday lol.
Pick either Graves or drow and offer 6mths gold, 3 mths gold, 3 mths silver. Your call on which one as your doing all the work mate
I said I won't be there tomorrow a few weeks ago lol.
This stopped being my tournament a while back.
Prizes for graves sounds good though.
