Maps would be limited to the most known/ some less played. (Most of the bloods on the Rated bloods menu) Did this real fast and deleted some of the real **** maps that are never played (or ive never heard of at least)

As for bloods, they would need to be faster maps. Unless you started the first few rounds as best of 3, then expanded the maps to best of 5 in semi-finals.
So you could start with a map pool where players can choose 1 map each and the colour they want for the map (pool size 5 maps i.e - Khans/Veterans/Germs/KingsMove/Spider for example). Decider remains a constant (smosh BO3?).
Then the semi-finals have a set map list order.
The final has a set list order, different from the semi-finals.
That seems like the better way to host such a tournament. I also think a seeding system would be nice, so top players don't knock each other out in the early rounds (unsure on what style of system - whether you base it on ratings, current matches played, use a new ladder where top 8 players are seeded), or whatever.
For something of this nature to be successful, you need an incentive. A quality incentive. Premium memberships are all well and good, but it isn't a big incentive. Cash is, and if you can find a sponsor/s to donate some cash (anything of $100 plus), you will attract the other CS ladder communities to train, practice and learn the maps in order to win cash.
Added that with the current streaming era for AoC which will hopefully be introduced to CS in the near future, there's huge potential to build up the game. Starcraft 2 players have been intrigued by AoC streams, wanting to try the game out. I'm sure there's many other types of players who are in the same boat once they get a glimpse of what the game is all about.

See thats what I want to get away from. This is a problem the blood community in aoc cs has ALWAYS had. We are too "selective" in blood maps.
Unless it is: Smosh, vetz, khanz, germs, spider, gwarz, graves, Herofest, KM, (plus a couple few others), the maps are shunned and not really acknowledged.
The point of this tournament is DIVERSITY. Playing more then the regular top known blood maps we have been whoring for years. Give a chance for everyone to practice new maps,
I don't like the master of bloods tournament because it is TOO structured. It is based on LUCK half the time more then actual skill.
Maybe put in something like you cannot pick the same map twice in a row!. Like hoodlum could not pick graves every round, and metal/vicer could not pick vetz every round. etc.
OR, you could add in a brand new map that a host is creating, some blood type map that takes some decent skill as the decider to get more activity and players playing DIFFERENT maps.
What about setting up some sort of a point system for playing VCOM events? Each time a person wins a tournament game they recieve x amount of points... and as they go farther into tournaments those points increase. The highest point totals after x amount of time get invited to a more complex event.
Well thats the point lol, you have to learn more then your own maps...
Why would there be disputes though.
Each person picks one map. Decider is pre-determined.
