i found that so many recodings stop in the middle of the game...
for exaple this one stops after 38 minutes..

i tried it out with different computers... .the same..
must be a "voobly problem"
and what the have in commen ist the setting "allied vision"
can you check this out

When you play a game on Voobly with a particular mod and patch, you are required to use the same while viewing the rec as well. So if the game was originally played with the 'Allied vision' mod, then you must ensure that you have the mod active while viewing the rec.

apparently u use another way to watch recordings ??
i download and unzib the appropriate gamefile from the voobly website
to get the final mgz-file !
then i launch the AOC Programm (from my computer)
and choose "Age of Empires II: The Conquerors - 1.4RC - Extended info"

then i choose the MGZ File and play the recording
thats it....
i can nowhere choose "allied vision"...
and it not makes really sense
that the recording stops after 38 minutes... because of a "wrong setting"
either its played or not

check it out ... it takes you not even 10 minutes to have that proof

The only way you can watch a recording which used a Voobly mod is by viewing the rec from within Voobly. Unfortunately you cannot view these games offline because the default data file does not include those customisation that the mod allows.

In this case, the allied vision mod essentially offers free cartography (so you can see your allies from min 0). When you view the same recording with the default data file of aoc (as opposed to the modified one by the mod) your game does not know how to handle a caravan research (2x cart speed) without cartography which is why it comes to a standstill at about the point the first player in game chooses to do 'caravan' research.

Long story short, when you want to view a rec which was played with a Voobly mod, you must use the Voobly app to view the recording and ensure the mod is active in your game room.
