Hi everybody :) ;flowers

I've had many questions in regards to the inner-workings of VCOM. I know a lot of others do as well. I decided to make a VCOM Protocol to have a guideline on some rules that frequent these tournaments. I thought it would be nice to have a simple link directed at a question regarding premiums, hosting, etc. Some of the information listed on this protocol was already stated somewhere on the forums (Voobly & VCOM).

I need your help to finalize this. I'm pretty sure I left out some stuff and/or some things on here warrant a discussion (i.e. sign-up awards/prizes). I encourage a healthy discussion and your opinions and ideas are welcome.

After you all feel this is ready, this thread will be moved and pinned (original deleted) to the VCOM Tournament Suggestions Forum.

I know VCOM is mainly CS, but does this apply to RM as well? I know they do most of their hosting/advertising over at AoCZone.

The Calendar should be scrapped as you we already have Robo doing a Weekly Tournament Round Up on Reddit. Rather than having a separate wtf ugly page for it on a customized site with streamers and ****, I am sure robo would be up to make a page called Activate and Upcoming tournaments on VCOM pages and then add it to the navbar, it would be much cleaner and straight forward, but it would give a lot more information.


PS! MKAKE MY VCOM ACC VOOBLY PROMOTER ASWELL, IT WOULD BE NICE TO ACTUALLY HAVE ROOM 1-10 WHEN TRYING TO ADVERTISE A TOURNAMENT!!! ;stick


Edit: I am willing to compile you the premium and badge formats for all tournament styles, if you really want it as a template.

Put it under Awards then? I think it's fitting to have it under Sign-Ups because awards and premiums are based on the number of Sign-ups.

Those pages are old yes, but I think it would be a good idea to put them there anyways. The calendar is for streamed events from what I was told. The other one hasn't been used in around 2+ years. Was thinking of redoing it, but didn't want to waste my time if it's not being used, or will not be used. Whatever you guys think its best. I removed 'Related Pages'. Let me know what you think should be listed instead, if anything.

You would have to ask somebody higher than myself or Blake for this lol We can't give out premiums/levels. Honestly, maybe it would be a good idea to have all the Captains at Promoter status. As i said though, it's not up to me.

I just wanted to put a little something basic on here. No need to make another page (if that's what you meant). I do realize what I have listed for awards/premiums as far as sign-ups might not be on target.

I like this Idea to. The captains should be able to chose to be an voobly promotor on there VCOM account.

ANiket, Hnoobish and me are the only ones active for the cs section. Robo boro for the NPL. this should not be a problem for the cs staff.

I am now advertising for the 2vs2 europe tournement and the closest room I get is room 70 atm in the RM section....

I already have a premium account and having the promoter status is because we ACTUALLY PROMOTE unlike the voobly promotors atm in the cs section.

So far I know I didnt see any voobly promotors except dave doing anything.

I like it how you organising and making everything clear Mich. Finally someone giving cs a propper direction.

I'll speak to Tic about making VCOM Captains Promoters. To better help though, I would need all the reasons you can think of. No promises though.
  • Assists with advertising (hosting premium rooms), instead of being on the bottom of the lobby where advertisements more than likely won't be seen.
  • Makes forum browsing (in between Voobly and VCOM) easier between accounts by not having to switch back and forth between a privileged account/premium account.
  • VCOM represents Voobly Staff. Most of 'Promotions' come from tournaments.
  • VCOM Captains for Promoter only - Like with any other clan, it needs to be earned. Inactive Promoter accounts will be removed if not used within 6 months as we have enough inactives already lol


@ nhoob - weren't you already a Promoter? ;lol

Any rule may be changed by the Tournament Official on or before the night. Players must be informed by a new post in the rules thread stating ALL changes. (Optionally) changed rules will be in a different colour.

Re: RM I will continue hosting noob/intermediate tournaments here with badges/premiums as prizes, and anything geared towards high level players or with cash prizes on aoczone.

Sounds great. It's good there's promotions on other sites for Tournaments as well; AoCZone, Reedit, etc.

Are brackets supposed to be done on the vcom challonge or the vcomcs challonge?

If you want me to update the calendar every 1-3 weeks I can do that. But most off my reddit round up is rm stuff (because I don't read most of the CS stuff) not hosted on vcom so idk if you want those listed here.

All tournaments should be posted on [You must login to view link] imho. I honestly see no reason to have a separate one for CS.

I would like the calendar to list all events promoted by VCOM to be all on one page, regardless if it's CS, RM, NPL, etc. I would like the Calendar Tab to actually mean something. For now, it seems the only thing it's being used for is Streaming. That's just me though. I'm not sure how others want it.

So only add tournaments that are hosted by vocm?

If someone sets up how it should be formatted I can have a play around with adding info.

While creating this should the hierarchy be updated, and anyone who doesnt fall into that list be removed? and clarify what ranks mean?

I'm mostly asking for the RM side as people have asked me about hosting (multiple) tournaments (kigo), and I just sent them onto blake/cavin because I have no idea how these things are supposed to be done.


Following on from this is applications.

Should there be a formal application (similar to Voobly staff application) for people to fill out then captains? discuss it, what tournaments they wish to run, what they bring to the group etc.

Sign Ups =/= Awards

You should discuss different sign up formats and sometimes being eligible to sign up, etc. ;tongue
