My idea is like:
Javi 2000 in x ladder.
After 7 days without play in that ladder, i will begin to lost each 24 hours 25 points.
About limit of decay should depend of activity in each ladder, for example: CBA/HERO down to 1800 and RCB to 1850, 1v1 ladder to 1700, bloods to 1700 and alternative to 1700.
This basically mean, more activity = more limit.
This is the best way for prevent players stop play and just play 1 game in 1 month for decay, or players get decay and keep in top of that ladder.

I'm also debating on changing the point spread for Madness and resetting more often.
But that '7 days' i think should be obligatory due a lot of players just can be online the
weekends.

I agree, aggressive decaying doesn't help anyone (X points / day after a week is FAR too big - there could be legit reasons people aren't playing at that time, or might just be on holiday longer than 1 week). Maybe reduce it to a 2 week decay rather than 1 month would be my suggestion, and only on CBA/Hero as Mich stated.
Also isn't logic how players can stop play in few ladders and even keep in top 5, imo should down limit of decay to 1850 CBA/HERO/RCB and 1v1/Alternative/Bloods to 1700. Down all to 15 days decay and if player keep in decay instead each 2 week lost 25 points then change to each 1 week (Until that player play again)
Yeah that don't help but see how people are in top 20 ladders just playing for decay/ with less points than decay down, that make me sad and mad at same time 11
