Mouse lag + full screen after "Window-Mode" (on Linux + Wine)

Hello everyone,

I reinstalled AoC and Voobly on my computer on Linux, thanks to this useful guide ( https://www.voobly.com/forum/thread/217821 ). I followed the same steps two years ago, and I experienced mouse lag, therefore I created this topic: https://www.voobly.com/forum/thread/253679 .

The advices Calvin gave me were pretty useful, but I still experience today this mouse lag in game, which I doesn't have when I start AoC offline (with age2_x1.exe). So I wanted to configure the "Game --> DirectX" options again exactly as Calvin told me. When I enable "Window-Mode" though, I have a problem which is that AoC doesn't go full screen after the game start. That is to say the game stays in the upper corner:

How could I solve this problem?

If you have any other advice that could help me to improve the mouse lag on Linux + Wine, I would be very very grateful ;3happy

Thanks a lot!

Sylve

Edit: Please note that the mouse lag may not be Linux-related, as I experience no lag offline.
NB: Maybe the wine version has an influence on my problem?

I found a workaround.

Credits to eric@voobly and kitt: Simply disable AoC cursor in game and use your own one (in my case KDE cursor). The only downside is that you don't have the customized cursors of AoC (for attack, tc point to boar, patrol), but that's really not important.

See here for further infos: https://www.voobly.com/forum/thread/276219 and https://www.voobly.com/forum/thread/250930/:1172313#post1172313

(If you have other suggestions, you're still welcome!)

Have you tried disabling mouse acceleration?

If the config file doesn't exist, just create one.

Hello, thank you for your answer. I tried indeed to turn off mouse acceleration and created the file indicated. But after that my mouse click was really slow (I mean moving slow compared to the movement of the mouse) and I didn't investigated further the issue. Maybe I'll try again later. The workaround I found is acceptable though.

Thanks again ;flowers
