Cannot Install Any Game Mods

Hello,

I have been playing games on Voobly for many years, but suddenly I am having issues with updating game mods in Voobly. I am using the AOE2 HD download from Steam and do not have the disc version installed on my computer.

I performed all of the steps outlined in this article: [You must login to view link]

When I run game diagnostics, it says everything looks fine.

But when I go into the Medieval Siege Lobby and create a room or join a room, I get the error message: "Patch 'v1.5 RC' has not been installed. Do you want to download now?"

When I hit Yes, it takes me to this page to install the mod: https://www.voobly.com/gamemods/view/13/v1.5%20RC

When I click Download Now, I get the following warning: "The information you’re about to submit is not secure. Because this form is being submitted using a connection that’s not secure, your information will be visible to others."

When I hit "Send anyway", User Account Control asks me if I want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes. I hit "Yes" but every time I get the following error from Voobly:

"Lost connection to the server. Reconnecting in XX seconds. Could not find game installation directory -- please join a lobby and run game diagnostics." If I hit reconnect now, nothing happens. If I wait until the "XX seconds" counts down to zero, it says "Downloading Update (Unknown)".... but nothing ever downloads.

I also cannot install any other Mods or updates from Voobly's server either (e.g. small trees, short walls, etc.).

If anyone knows what to do to solve this issue, I would really appreciate any help or advice!!

Also, I see that many other users are posting similar threads. Mod Chris @ Voobly, if you are reading this, I have been reading your replies to other similar posts -- but this same issue does appear to be impacting multiple users and I have not found any resolution so far. Some users appear to have gotten past this issue by using a VPN, but they also didn't seem to understand why that solved the problem.

I don't have a super technical understanding of code or computers, but I would be willing to share whatever info I can with you to help find the source of the problem and a solution for everyone experiencing this.

Thank you,

Hoppeeee
