Furthermore, when hosts launch the game, oftentimes players get kicked. Can you please also have a look into it and get that fixed? To be honest, before the update voobly was running very smooth. Now a lot of bugs and issues have come up.

What was the reason for the update and what is supposed to be better than before? Maybe you can provide a link to the topic where this is explained.

Thank you for your time and effort.

I just read this thread and tested myself. It's true that launching the "Watch recording" mode is buggy but there's no problem if you launch the game in single player mode and then load the recording. If it helps anyone.

Please understand that Voobly isn't a company or an association, we are doing this in our freetime... and we all have families, kids, a job and other stuff that keeps us busy in real life. Not to mention the holiday time.

Thank you for your time. I think the easiest and simplest option would be to restore one of the previous versions, as soon as it can be done. since most of the update changes arent rly known.
never change a running system..

Guys, simply watch the recorded game through single player, it's like four more clicks you have to make.
[You must login to view link]

Fast forward will then work again. This workaround works perfectly and we have more time trying to figure out the Voobly closing / Voobly crashing problem.

I have been having same problem, and I'm assuming everyone else has the same problem if we're all using the same tools (ie AOE/AOC game, voobly, voobly mods). I tried the single player option as well, even tried different combinations of settings for over an hour yesterday thinking there was some magical way it would work! Unfortunately the speed did not change for playback of recs.
I do recognise that you guys do this in your own time and, as a fellow software developer, I fully understand how that works when you're simply helping out as a volunteer team - as opposed to paid employees who would be at their desk monday - friday.
I appreciate all the good work you guys do - and Im sure all of the peeps in this thread do also - to allow us to play our games in the first place. Voobly absolutely rocks as a home to play AOE online.

I can wait for the update when you guys get the time to fix it.

Hi, has this issue been fixed meanwhile? I do have the same issue. the button - spectator server on/off used to be there but no seems to be gone.

And that doesn't allow me to fast forward while watching a recorded game. it used to work in the past but I had to re-install voobly-client and now that option doesn't exist anymore.

any ideas on how to fix or whether this will be fixed with another client update?

many thanks!

Guys this option works fine.

Simple steps
1. Quick Host
2. From menu bar enable 'Start at Single Player menu'
(just look under the "game" option)
3. Launch game
and you should arrive at single-player menu
4. Select Single Player
5. Select 'Watch Recorded games'.
6. Select your game and enjoy.

Thanks.

But NOPE, that doesn't do the trick. Single player is switched on but still cuts the fast forward option and warning pops up before recorded game starts.

The button to remove spectator mode is what this seems to be all about...

How can't you select it? I use single player mode for testing all the time, it works.
