Hi, I'm running Voobly on windows 11 home edition and my age of empires HD installation is through Steam. Voobly prompted through game diagnostics that I would need to install the compatibility patch which I tried to download, but it got flagged as insecure site even on chrome. Still, I went ahead and downloaded it. However, windows is not letting me open the file saying it may contain a virus and Mcafee livesafe keeps flagging the same as a virus everytime. Can you please look into this?

I tried following the steps on the article and did a clean install. But the compatibility patch is not downloading and gets blocked by antivirus. Please find the screenshot for the same.

Please show us a screenshot of McAfee to see which "virus" has been detected. It wouldn't surprise me, if it was just complaining about the missing digital signature. The file has not changed for 12 years anyway.

Looks like a false positive detection:

Open the quarantine and please show the scan result. I am sure, it is just complaining, that the file has no digital signature. In other words, not a virus, just a configuration problem.

Hi,

As requested, here is the screenshot from Mcafee.

You can go to McAfee >> Quarantine items >> Select Compability Patch and click on Restore button.

Note: You will also face a False Positive on v16RC.dll I recommend to add both items to exclude from future analysis.

To exclude files in McAfee:

In your desktop app >> Real Time Protection >> Add file

And add both files.

v16RC.dll is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age2HD\Voobly Mods\AOC\Patches\1.6 RC

The compabitlity patch, once restored, should be in your downloads folder.
