I've been receiving a PM telling me that Voobly needs support. I'm all for supporting my favorite games, but if I look at the competition, DE is much more affordable than having a gold membership here and has fewer issues.

Voobly has quite a few bugs. I always get the "downloading patch" whenever I launch the Voobly client. It never finishes downloading. It stays on top of other screens and it's quite annoying. "Game Browser" is just a white screen now. It's been like that for almost a year. A suggested uninstall and install didn't work. Watching recorded games on AOC has many bugs. It doesn't let me watch the full rec. It's also a pain to remember what patch and mod was used so I can watch the rec. 1.6 has lots of bugs. There's lots of patches for 1.6, but it doesn't save hot keys. Lots of out of sync errors. About half of the games I play here needs to be saved due to bugs/errors. For voobly's website, we can't view game chat in recorded games anymore. That was a nice feature.

We already fixed many bugs and keep updating the patch in order to fix those problems. Please keep in mind, that this is a community project. If you don't report any problems, we cannot fix them. If you have a technical issues, please post at the support forums and we will help you solving the download loop.
This is a FAQ! Create your desired configuration ONCE and copy the hotkey file to the game's root directory. If you however keep editing the sample configuration file, it will of course be overwritten over and over again.

Obviously a game with money and an actual studio behind it is more stable than a fan made mod carried out by a couple of volunteers. Who would have thought.

This is not about money, it's about supporting a platform for gaming in case Microsoft decides to close the DE servers, which has already happened.
