Dear Voobly,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing to request the removal of my ban from the New Players Lobby. I primarily play in this lobby and have never participated in any other lobby. I believe this restriction may have been applied in error, and I kindly ask you to review my case.

Please investigate the issue and rectify it accordingly. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.

Looking forward to your response.

Dear Voobly Support Team,

I appreciate your response regarding my ban from the New Player Lobby (NPL). However, I would like to request a review of my case as I believe there may have been a misunderstanding.

I fully respect and support the purpose of the NPL as a safe space for new players and understand the importance of preventing abuse of the system. However, I believe my restriction may have been imposed due to a misunderstanding, and I would like to challenge its validity on both logical and procedural grounds.

1. IP-Based Ban: Unjust Punishment for Multiple Players in One Household
Your current system applies an indiscriminate penalty based on IP rather than individual behavior. While automated measures can be efficient, they fail to account for households with multiple players at different skill levels. In my case, one of us is an experienced player, while the other is a legitimate new player who is now unjustly denied access to the NPL.

By enforcing an IP-based ban, the system is punishing players for circumstances beyond their control. This undermines the fundamental purpose of the NPL—to provide a fair environment for new players. If the goal is fairness, blanket restrictions that harm legitimate users ultimately contradict that principle.

2. No Clear Violations of the Rules
I have carefully reviewed your stated policies, and I am confident that I have not violated any of the listed prohibitions:

I have not created multiple accounts to re-enter the NPL.

I have not shared my account or manipulated my ratings in any way.

I have not played outside of the NPL in a manner that would trigger an automatic ban.

Note: i created an account (koSN0W, zero replacing O) solely to understand why I was banned, as I had no idea what was going on at the time. It was only last night that I made this account, with no ill intent to manipulate or break any rules."

If my account has been flagged by your algorithm, I request full transparency regarding the specific action that led to this ban. Without this information, the decision feels arbitrary and unjust.

3. Right to Appeal and Request for a Fair Review
Given that your system acknowledges the possibility of wrongful bans, I am formally requesting an opportunity to prove my eligibility. I am willing to comply with any verification process necessary to confirm that a legitimate new player in my household is being unfairly restricted. If the goal is to protect the integrity of the NPL, the proper course of action should be a case-by-case review, rather than implementing sweeping, unchallengeable restrictions.

4. Seeking a Fair and Reasonable Resolution
I am not asking for special treatment, but rather a fair and logical reconsideration of my case. If there is a process to verify eligibility, I am prepared to cooperate fully. If your decision is final, I kindly request a clear and specific explanation of why my appeal is being denied beyond a generic automated response.

I trust that Voobly values fairness and transparency, and I look forward to a timely response.

Sincerely,
koSNOW

The algorithm isn't IP based, it however temporary blocks you if an account attempts to connect to NPL using different IP addresses on the same account within a short time e. g. when using a VPN or when sharing your account with someone else or logging onto someone else's account (which is against our Code of Conduct). It is not recommended using VPNs, as they may lead to shared bans and banned players frequently use them attempting to evade their ban.
