Basically I was thinking we don't have a Masters event scheduled after the 1v1 CBA Event, so I was wondering if a mixed map tournament would be something you guys would want to consider for June or possibly sooner if at all
Example - *These rounds/maps can come in any order*
A CBA round and in the description you would post that you were choosing between x amount of civs *I think 3 is a good number*.
CBA - Celts
CBA - Mongols
CBA - Japanese
You would only pick 1 of the civs to be used in the tournament *randomly or the lead mod choice*.
A Castle Blood Round w/ Map options
1v1 RCB Same *Japs/Mongols*
1v1 CBX Same
1v1 BYO Same
Building Maps:
Herofest Huns
Lustful Encounters Spans
Europe L2p
Hero/Mainstream Bloods
Smosh
Veteran
Germs
Open field/Kill the Wonder Bloods
Graves
WoA
Dome
Alternative
Dodgeball
TTF
Ancient TD
I left some maps off like Gwarz/AoW as games can last a really long time.
So at start of tourney you could announce the first round as CBA for instance. The next round could then be Hero/Mainstream Bloods. Followed by Alternative in the third round. Keep in mind the lead mod is only selecting 1 map to be played per round . So on and so on.
Also don't think maps like TD and TTF should be used in a tournament format, that is just my opinion though. Whoever gets blue in 1v1 RCB will win if both players are of similar skill so RCB shouldn't be used.
Example for first month
CBA Celts
MCB Japs
Smosh
Dodgeball
Second month
CBA Vikings
KC Huns
Vets
King of Towers
Thoughts?
I also kind of agree about TTF/TD but there were alot of complaints that the Alternative tournament did not have any TD's or TTF. So I think they should at least be considered.
I still think there needs to be some randomness to the maps that are played for this event to work right.
Another option going along with my original post and Damian's suggestion would be to posts a list of the maps we are planning on using and turn it into 3+ tournaments. Maybe set up some sort of a 'point' system *not rating* where players could earn points for winning tournament matches and earn an increased amount of points the farther they went into the tournament. After all the events were completed you could take the 8/16 highest point totals and have a nice bo3/bo5 type tournament to name a 'Supreme Masters Champion' for the year or something.
