DE has several layers of shadow, going from very light to dark dray. On the other hand, AoC only has one tone of gray.
If you port the DE graphics directly, you convert all tones of gray to the same one. When we do the porting, we first delete the light gray and leave only the darker one. That's what makes a different shadow on the TC.
Also, units in DE have light shadow pixels around them. Since we delete them, our units look slimer.
In terms of color, the TC has no difference (there may be some in other player colors, due to the way that's handled). Our units are brighter because we actually do so to help contrast in the screen.
Overall, the graphics are ported using our same tools, except for some differences in method.
l think this has all frames
l think this is directly ported from DE to AOC
Porting graphics is not as simple as copying files, the only way to do it is through SLX Studio.
Its ok if you don't want to add because as you said it look the same(just lighter)
[You must login to view link] vs Pancrol implementation:
first slp don't have same amont of frame that means if you use vlad slp.It will not work proprely for aoe2 mod care about this:
an other think , becare you don't have outline on vlad slp. i didn't check all of them, but if you go behind building you unit will be hided.
+ shadow is big
The shadow I already mentioned it. We only maintain the darker grey when doing the port from Definitive Edition.
The outline is an issue of not selecting the option in SLX studio when creating the data graphics.
