You must use the same mods, patches and other modifications that have been used when the game was played.

If I used different patch/mods, I cant play recordings.
I can play recordings in normal speed. But I can't fast forward.
I have no idea why it shows spectators mode is on.

I just downloaded the recorded game file of this match:
https://www.voobly.com/match/view/25900129

I placed the recorded game file in the correct directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires II\Voobly Mods\AOC\Data Mods\DE Balance - Allied Vision\SaveGame

My Game Room Settings:
Patch 1.5 RC
Mod DE Balance with Allied Vision

I click Launch.
I can watch the recorded game without any problems.

I follow your steps. I can launch this file.
But it shows the message in game room :
<Watching recording in spectator mode -- you cannot fast forward>
I have no idea.
The problem is the same as I posted pics.

According to my records this has always been the case. What is the difference for you? You still can set the replay speed to 100.

Hi I'm having the exact same problem, it seems that something happened since my last download. I was always able to see recordings in 100 speed before, It looks like if another person was in the replay, I couldn't speed up back then. same behaviour now

There used to be an option "always start spectator server" in the spectator options...
For some reason, that option is gone now...

If you watch a game with option "always start spectator server" on, then you can not watch a record very fast speed.

The game also give you this warning when you start watching a record (see attachment).

Before the voobly updates, you could turn spectator server off and you could watch records much faster.
Now the option spectator server is gone, while you can still see the warning about it, and a recording could be watched much faster in the past, so I guess this spectator server setting is standard set on "on".

I guess it's best to bring back the "start spectator server" option if that's possible...

I know if you watch a game now, you see speed on 100% if you fast forward, but the fast forward used to be much faster, also, if you wait half a min and speed is back lower.
If I fast forward again after half a min i see speed 76% again...

ps, i just tested it, link is not needed because I suppose it's the same for every record...

Exactly, it's not happening on a specific game, it's happening in old games recordings too

@chris thank you for your info. I just want to emphasize how important that tool is to watch recorded games in fast speed, u really have to bring that option back guys. Ive heard of many people feeled bothered about in the past days. a few years ago the option to save chapters during the game has been already removed, now this. Watching rec games not only super enjoyable to review a game, or i.e. if u havent time to play, but also helps people a lot to improve their own gameplay. So, I'd really appreciate, if you can bring this back as soon as possible.

TheGoldenHorde is absolutely right!! Please fix asap this opion for us to can view recs in fast mode.
With new client there are too many problems, many games crash while starting all players complaining.
The latest updates of client, ruined the will of many players to keep playing and they are already missing and not play 2-3 weeks (players with almost every day presence in voobly...)
